   Mr. Yu Shouqi had a great love for traditional Chinese painting from his earliest years. Since his ten years he had become well-educated on carved lacquer through self-study, with drawing, carving, and painting all by himself. His main emphasis has been on the field of traditional Chinese painting on landscape, floral and bird, and also the field for calligraphy. His painting works follows the traditional style, and springing from life, just like his good character,unadorned and alwayssimple, conscientious and meticulous. It is with his brush

that Mr. Yu has captured and celebrated the beauty of South China, a maze of rivers and high mountains. As Mr. Yao Zhihua, the famous artist said, “Nature has the biggest heart”. The Chairman of Traditional Chinese Painting Artists' Association of China, Mr. Lei Zhengmin fully affirmed for Mr.Yu's traditional Chinese painting technique with appreciated words “Ten thousand miles of mountains which were embracing by clouds”.

   Mr. Yu has published the Traditional Chinese Painting Compile, by Yu Shouqi , and the post card The Lotus Collection , which was published by Chinese State Postal Bureau. His painting works are absorbed by some domestic and foreign large-scale albums and the Dictionary for many times, with introduced and illustrated by many famous medium, such as “People's Daily”, “Hunan Pictorial”, “Traditional Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Newspaper”, “Chinese Art”, “A Generation of Famous Artist”, “Traditional Chinese Painting Artist”, “Chinese Landscape Painting Research”, “The Splendid Art”, “Trend of the Times”, “Sanxiang City Express”, “Changsha Evening”, Hunan TV Station and Changsha TV Station.
